About the Artist
Dora’s father was a botanist, and her work displays an understanding of plant life in both direct and indirect forms -- an appreciation gained through years spent in gardens, in awe of their beauty. She was born in Lisle, IL, where she spent much of her time with her father, at the arboretum, and playing outdoors. Dora’s mother, an artist herself, gave her a set of watercolors at the age of 6, and from that point on her interest in painting nature and her surrounds fostered the basis of a talented artistic career.
